On July 2, 2021, Krista Halderson did not show up for work. When a friend went to her Windsor, Wisconsin, home to check on her, Krista and her husband, Bart Halderson, were both gone, but their cars were still in the garage. Their son, Chandler Halderson, said they had left for the family cabin with friends, but he could not say who had taken them there. As the holiday weekend passed, the cabin trip made less and less sense. Investigators found that Chandler’s story was only one part of a much larger pattern involving college records, a job he never had, a planned move to Florida, and a series of explanations that fell apart under scrutiny. In this episode, we follow the disappearance of Bart and Krista, the evidence that led investigators to two separate locations, and the case that went to trial. Chandler was convicted in 2022 and is serving two life sentences without eligibility for release. His remaining convictions were affirmed on appeal, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court declined review in June 2026. New episodes every Tuesday and Thursday!
